Springville, New York

Springville is a village on the Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway line between Ashford Junction and Buffalo.  It was also a station on the short-lived Buffalo and Susquehanna Railroad.  The 1912 map below shows the location of the two railroads in relation to the town.  Note that the map is skewed so that north is to the right.

The BR&P station is an attractive brick one that is still standing at it original location just north of Main Street.  The 1892 map below shows the location of the station and freight house.

This 1915 postcard shows a close-up of the station.

This 1998 photo shows the current state of the station.

Just south of the village of Springville the BR&P crossed Cattaraugus Creek, the boundary between Erie and Cattaraugus counties.  The 190 foot tall bridge is shown on the 1916 postcard below.
