Watkins, New York

Watkins was on the Pennsylvania Railroad's Elmira Branch, formerly the Northern Central Railroad.  The Fall Brook Railway (part of the New York Central system) also had a station in Watkins about a mile west of downtown.

Fall Brook Railway

An 1870 stereograph of the Fall Brook Railway bridge over Watkins Glen. Caption reads "Watkins Glen viaduct, Syracuse, Geneva & Corning Rail Road, designed and constructed by Niagara Bridge Works, Buffalo NY. Total Length, 450 feet. Height from bed of stream to rail, 155 feet; Height from top of masonry to rail, 144 ft. Total Cost, $22,000. "
