Plus other times rap and rock collaborations were awesome.

For those unfamiliar, Fetty Wap is the fresh faced New Jersey born rapper who proudly owns the song that will certainly be the song of the summer. Although “Trap Queen” is just over a year old now, it has only recently garnered celebrity attention and now mainstream exposure. I mean, when Rihanna is a fan of something how could it not become popular?

At the MTV Movie Awards of the weekend, it was business as usual as Fall Out Boy took to the stage to perform “Centuries” from their leanest album, American Beauty/American Psycho

Things took a turn though when, instead of just ending the song, the boys kind of just started playing “Trap Queen” by Fetty Wap. Oh, yeah and freaking Fetty Wap was there. Nice.

This has to be our favourite cross genre collaboration of recent memory but then there was of course the time when Kid Cudi teamed up with MGMT.

And more recently iLoveMakonnen and Ezra Koenig.

Of course we can’t forget Ed Sheeran and Rick Ross.
