His true calling.
Unfortunately, before you start imagining Bill (we call him Bill) spotting a “Missing Dog” poster and going full on McConaughey in one man’s mission to find one lost canine, the operation was just a little less characterful and (sadly) entirely absent of any dreary eyed beer can ruminations.
In fact, the success came when Billy shared the following Instagram post with his 435,000 followers.
No truer words were spoken than by one of the post’s commenters:
People SHOULD buy their own dogs. Cardinal Rule #1.
Nevertheless, no more than two days after the share, Mochi the stolen dog was located and returned home to her family.
All in all, it was truly excellent work.
But if you thought this was over, we’re suspecting this may not be the last you hear in band members turning to detective /recovery work.
The success story of Mochi and Billy comes as part of wave of band members doing detective-related activities. Last week, a punk band in New Orleans recovered a stolen painting worth £166,000 while thrash-metal band Slayer helped re-home a freezing kitten over christmas.
Could this be the beginning of a Golden Age in Band Detectives? We certainly hope so.
